Happy anniversary to me!
Today marks one year since I took my first photo with my first digital SLR camera. I'm excited to see how far I've come during that time and by what I still have to learn. But since this is also a new year, I've decided to post my favorite image from each month; a sort of calendar, if you will.

Fog
The Fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

One of my all-time favorite poems, full of metaphorical images. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area is to live with fog, to feel its cold dampness, and to welcome its enfolding embrace. There's a mystery in the fog which disappears when the fog does but when it's here, it's magical.
